To mark Mental Health Awareness Week, Platform Southwark will be holding the Stories of Being festival from 18-22 May, celebrating mental health and creativity.
Born out of our Southwark regeneration partnership with TfL, Platform is a multi-discipline temporary project space with a mission to encourage and promote groundbreaking art, music and performance. Set over three floors, Platform is home to live events, exhibitions and workshops, with space occupied by local arts organisations such as the Young Vic, Brainchild, Vermillion Hook and Illuminate Productions.
Aiming to ‘reframe current stigmas’ about mental health, Stories of Being will include a series of informative, insightful and inspiring theatre, poetry and music performances, workshops, talks, installations and short films. Events aim to open up new creative discourses around subjects related to mental health and wellbeing, encouraging audiences to continue these conversations after the event.
With 25 contributors over the course of the week - from a punk poet to opera, film showings to puppetry – you’re bound to find an event that grabs your interest.
