U+I Think presents Sound Development

25.08.16

Tickets are now available for Sound Development, the first ever conference to bring together the property development sector with the music and creative industries.

A collaboration between U+I Think and Sound Diplomacy, the event aims to change the way property and the music/creative industries communicate, making all our towns and cities - wherever we are - better for it. Join the discussion on 6 September at our offices in Victoria, London.

Against a backdrop where budgets for arts and culture are under strain and where artists and creatives continue to be priced out of our cities, the need for developers to work together with the public sector and the arts and creative industries is crucial. Championing the cause for putting culture at the heart of regeneration, Sound Development will provide a rare but much needed opportunity to examine how the music industry in particular can help to build the economic and cultural capital of places.

Featuring leading thinkers from across the property industry, public sector, music and creative industries, the conference will explore the value of cross-industry partnerships and showcase real-life examples where music and culture have helped to create better spaces and places. Speakers include Paul Broadhurst, Senior Cultural Policy Officer at GLA; Dr. Julia Jones, managing director at Found in Music; Mirik Milan, Night Mayor of Amsterdam, and Paul Callaghan, Chair of The Leighton Group, among others.

Hosted at our head office, the one-day conference will feature a series of executive TEDx-style talks and panels inspired by Sound Diplomacy’s sister event, Music Cities Convention and U+I’s music-inspired development, The Old Vinyl Factory. Entrance will be a ‘Pay What You Wish’ donation on the, with all proceeds going to Shelter.
