Peter Williams to become Chairman of U+I

Today our Board has appointed Peter Williams as an independent Non-executive and Chairman Designate of U+I. We couldn’t be more thrilled that Peter - former Selfridges CEO - will join in January and will become Chairman on 14th July 2016 when David Jenkins will retire after over eight years of service.

Peter brings with him significant experience of both executive and Non-executive roles with current Board positions at, Rightmove and Sportech.

At Selfridges Peter steered the business during a period of major change which saw the brand re-launched and its stores refurbished and expanded nationwide. His extensive experience includes some of the UK’s top retail and consumer-facing brands and over a period of seven years he has held roles at Jaeger, JJB Sports, the EMI Group and online fashion giant ASOS.

At a point at which U+I is undergoing an important evolution following the merger of Cathedral and Development Securities, we have no doubt that Peter’s experience will be invaluable for the Company. Our vision is ambitious - to be the best and most respected regeneration company in the UK.This vision requires us to create value at every step of the way and for all of our stakeholders from Shareholders to local communities to JV partners. We have no doubt that Peter will add great strength to our Board, helping us to achieve that ambition.
